5 Questions. 5 Answers w/Yancy

I am blessed to have relationships with some very cool people in children’s ministry. I have asked some of my children’s ministry friends the same five questions. Here are is what Yancy said:

1. In a short paragraph, tell us about you.
I write songs and record them for kids of all ages (preschool to preteen.) I travel the country doing family concerts and leading worships and have a blast. I’m a PK (dad is Jim Wideman). Consider it a huge honor to get to write songs and make resources that plant the Word of God in kid’s hearts! Learn the rest at www.yancynotnancy.com

2. What have you done that has attracted the most kids/families?
The music I make overall but the “Little Praise Party” videos that are for preschoolers have been super popular.

3. What have you done that has had the biggest spiritual impact for kids/families?
Record songs that help kids grow in their faith. Many times asking their parents a question about something in one of the songs. The Word of God doesn’t return void, one reason I love having the Bible be at the core of the songs I write and sing.

4. What would you never do again?
Have all my relationships in one place. (city or church) Why? In ministry we go through different seasons in life. It’s important to have relationships at church and in your community as well around the country and will fellow peers in ministry. Investing in relationships for the different seasons is more valuable than putting all your eggs in one basket.

5. What are you working on in 2012?
The new Little Praise Party CD and DVD “Happy Day Everyday” releases in January. I wrote and produced the music for Standard Publishing’s VBS “Adventures on Promise Island.” I have a long list of other resources I want to create so hopefully I can find the time and finances to pull some of those off in 2012.

On Monday we’ll read up on the one and only Dale Hudson!!
