Religion Becoming Extinct in Some Countries?

According to FOXNews, researchers in a new study by the American Physical Society conclude that religion may soon be extinct in Australia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Canada, Finland, Ireland, New Zealand, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. The study showed an alarming trend for people in these countries to affiliate with no religion at all—this was true for 60 percent of people in the Czech Republic and 40 percent of those in the Netherlands. Study scientists Richard Wiener, Daniel Abrams, and Haley Yaple commented that “for societies in which the perceived utility of adhering is not greater than the utility of adhering, religion will be driven toward extinction.” The study also found that 15 percent of Americans claim no religious affiliation.
