Assemblies of God Growing Faster Than U.S. Population
According to an announcement by the Assemblies of God denomination as reported by The Christian Post, the Assemblies of God are growing at a rate of four percent per year. This is four times faster than the growth rate of the population of the United States and is the largest annual percentage increase in eight years. AG official membership grew by 2.5 percent (1.75 million members). George Wood, the AG General Superintendent, called the growth a "unique moment in the history of the movement" and attributed the increase to ethnic diversity.
