Rick Warren at Radicalis: Say "Yes" to God

Pastor Rick Warren at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, Calif. began the Radicalis Conference urging pastors to find out where they and their churches need to say “yes” to God before asking others to do the same. As reported in The Christian PostKay Warren followed up with a reminder that we cannot say “yes” to God without understanding His radical love for us: “What would it look like if we approached the life-changing task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace not out of fear or duty or obligation, but out of that profound moment in which we experience for ourselves the extravagant love of God?” Radicalis is a Latin word meaning “from the root,” signifying going back to the root of what it means to follow Christ. Rick Warren told listeners, “You need to be radical in your connection to God so that you are rooted—no root, no fruit.” He also said the number one problem in the nation today is “spiritual rootlessness.” Steven Furtick, Dave Gibbons, Perry Noble, Mark Driscoll, Pete Wilson, and others will also speak at the conference, which runs through Friday.
