Women are attending church services and small groups less often, reading their Bibles less, and see faith as less important, according to a study by the Barna Group as reported by The Christian Post. The results of the Barna poll also show that, since 1991, women are less and less likely to hold traditional views of God and Satan.
Commenting on the results of the poll, researcher George Barna said women used to “put men to shame in terms of their orthodoxy of belief and the breadth of their religious behavior.” Interestingly, the number of men reading their Bible in a typical week increased a bit to 41 percent in the past 20 years, while women’s Bible engagement fell by 10 percent to 40 percent.
Barna also stated in the report, “Eras of change such as that in which we live in today demand alert and courageous leadership to understand the times, know what to do, and engage in bold action.” To read the entire report, click here.
