Rick Warren Webcast Will Feature Exclusive Preview of "The Bible" Miniseries

A live webcast on Saturday, March 2 will feature a behind-the-scenes look at the anticipated miniseries The Bible premiering the next day on The History Channel. According to The Christian Post, the 90-minute webcast will be hosted by Rick Warren, bestselling author and pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, Calif., and husband-and-wife producers of the series Mark Burnett and Roma Downey. The simulcast will show an overview of the series with exclusive clips not yet seen anywhere else.

Warren said he is planning to incorporate the miniseries into his next five weekend messages and launch a five-week small group series for his group ministry. He encouraged other pastors to do the same.

“Every Sunday night for five weeks — from March 3rd through Easter Sunday on March 31st — millions of viewers will see the Bible come to life in a whole new way,” he wrote on his blog at Pastors.com. “You can make the most of this opportunity to reach out to the people in your community who will be watching … plan a sermon series, small group and outreach campaign and help viewers go deeper and learn even more about the Bible.”

“One way to build a bridge between God’s Word and the issues of our day is to tie a sermon series into some cultural event, something that has already caught the attention of many people,” Warren commented.
