Why We'd Rather FIRE Than RESTORE

Being a spiritual leader is a privilege of humility given by God. It’s not an opportunity for learned pharisaical behavior. It would do us all well to consider the compassion and wise counsel in Galatians 6:1 when dealing with a fallen brother or sister: “If someone falls into sin, forgivingly restore him, saving your critical comments for yourself. You might be needing forgiveness before the day’s out.” (The Message)

Actually, Brennan Manning captured the propensity of all humanity when he said, “Hypocrisy is the natural expression of what is meanest in us all.” We can and must do better with our issue of anemic restorative healing within the Body of Christ. If not, then we should really consider asking the question, what the evangelical is our problem?
