A Bible signed by Albert Einstein and his wife in 1932 sold for $68,500 at a Bonhams auction last week.

USA Today reported that a Bible signed by Albert Einstein and his wife in 1932 sold for $68,500 at a Bonhams auction in New York last week. The Nobel Prize-winning physicist signed the Bible with the inscription saying the Bible “is a great source of wisdom and consolation and should be read frequently.” The Bible was a gift to a friend.

The presale estimate was only between $1,500 and $2,500. Bonhams has not released the name of the buyer.
