N. T. Wright on the Resurrection of Jesus

In a lecture given in April, 2010, at Wheaton College, the brilliant theologian N. T. Wright explains how the resurrection of Jesus Christ is much more than simply “proof of His Divinity” or the assurance that Christians will “go to heaven.” The point of the Gospel-writers is that the resurrection of Jesus is a demonstration that Jesus is indeed the Messiah. It is the resurrection of the Kingdom-Bringer. It means that new creation has begun. It means that God’s promises to bless the world through Israel– promises that were once stopped up because of Israel’s covenant unfaithfulness– is now beginning to flow out to the world because Jesus, Israel’s Messiah, has come and fulfilled Israel’s calling. This clip is less than 4 minutes. The whole lecture is about 74 minutes and can be viewed HERE.
